3. Continue reading chapter 6 of Great Gatsby - ... As you read ch. 6, you will notice “sections” like we have in previous chapters:
(1) The first part of the chapter focuses on the “true” story of Gatsby’s life. In the first half of the book, we heard the rumors and learned Gatsby’s version of his life. Here, Nick spends some time presenting the truth.
(2) The second section of the chapter features a gathering at Gatsby’s house in which Tom and two of his acquaintances (the Sloanes) stop at Gatsby’s to rest during a horseback riding excursion. You can contrast Gatsby with Tom, their personalities as well as Gatsby’s reaction to Tom in this chapter as compared to his reaction in ch. 4.
(3) The third section of the chapter presents another party at Gatsby’s house, which you can contrast to the party from ch. 3 (the first one Nick attended).
(4) The chapter concludes with a short epilogue of sorts in which Nick and Gatsby reflect on the party and on Gatsby’s dream. You can contrast how Gatsby imagined his dream unfolding and the reality; you can also contrast Gatsby and Nick’s viewpoints.

After reading ch. 5, write “the chapter” from Daisy’s perspective. You might pretend that it’s Daisy writing in her journal/diary about the events in ch. 5 or possibly telling Jordan about what happened. Start at the beginning – how Nick called up and asked her over for tea – and go to the end – how she’s feeling now about where this will go. Include other significant details/points from the chapter as Daisy would have experienced them. Write at least 300 words. Be creative! Turn in to TEAMS by Thursday (4/ 23)

Then, you can click on the Literature Criticism tab OR the Topic and Work Overviews tab. When you find a good article, read and annotate (like we did with the articles last week) and upload your annotated article to Poetry Project assignment in TEAMS. Then, write an Article Reflection that summarizes the article and responds to it. Upload that reflection article to TEAMS. You will repeat this for a second article . The goal is to have all of step 3 complete (2 annotated articles and 2 article reflections) complete and uploaded to TEAMS by next Thursday (4/16). (I extended to Thursday since Sunday is Easter.)
